In today's rapidly evolving corporate world, upskilling is not just a personal journey, but an organizational imperative. At Projetech, we have always believed that the growth of our team members directly mirrors our collective success. This ethos has manifested beautifully through our team members' continuous endeavors to enhance their professional repertoire.

We are thrilled to spotlight Phil Runion, Projetech’s very own Technical Account Manager, for his recent achievement. Kudos, Phil, for being the first in our family to bag the prestigious IBM Certified Administrator - Maximo Manage v8.x certification!

What does an IBM Certified Administrator for Maximo Manage v8.x bring to the table?

This certification isn't just a feather in the cap—it's a testament to one’s deep expertise in maneuvering the IBM Maximo Manage v8 environment. Whether it's about putting robust security measures in place, refining system automation, troubleshooting with precision, or flawlessly integrating multiple components, a certified professional can effectively lead the way, often without needing much external support.

For those keen on details, the certification journey is nothing short of intense. Candidates navigate through a diverse syllabus that encompasses areas like Administering a Maximo Manage Environment (16%), Security (13%), System Configuration (16%), Process Automation (11%), Maximo Manage Configuration (18%), Troubleshooting (15%), and Integration (11%).

Moreover, remember that professional certifications like these often have a shelf-life. Typically, every 2 to 5 years, one might need to renew their certification, ensuring they’re aligned with the latest in the field.

Phil's Tips for the Exam Aspirants

Having recently navigated the certification process, Phil offers some invaluable insights:

Exam's Nature: The exams are a couple years old now. It's essential to remember that the Maximo Application Suite (MAS) was undergoing significant changes during its creation. As a result, questions pertaining to MAS tend to focus on broader aspects—concepts that were unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. This is not to say that it doesn’t cover the Suite or OpenShift but it does stay out of the details that could easily change in the future.

Leverage Your 7.6 Knowledge: If you're well-versed with the 7.6 version, it can be your ace card! Phil found that a sound understanding of 7.6 could provide a significant advantage, especially for the functional questions. Nailing these sections can potentially make up for any gaps in the MAS parts of the exam.

What’s New: If you have taken either the 7.5 or 7.6 certifications you know that new features are a great source for questions. Note what’s new to Manage that would be likely be a good topic for questions. Features and changes to authentication, APIs, and integrations are all good topics for a Manage administrator to be familiar with.

Phil's Journey and The Bigger Picture

Adding this certification to Phil’s already impressive portfolio signifies his readiness to handle Maximo Manage v8.x challenges with increased efficiency and confidence. His achievement underscores his ability to autonomously manage intricate environments—a quality invaluable in today's dynamic workspace.

At Projetech, we're hopeful that Phil’s recent milestone serves as an inspiration for many. In a world marked by constant change, the pursuit of knowledge and professional development remains paramount. By pushing our boundaries, we not only overcome challenges but also build resilience, a quality that's essential across industries and communities.
