Maximo Training FAQs


1. Why is Projetech’s Maximo training helpful?

Projetech’s Maximo training enables you to make the most of your technology investment in asset and facilities management and maintenance. You will learn how to use Maximo with the help of Maximo Certified instructors who have years of hands-on Maximo experience and in-depth knowledge of best practices and advanced techniques. Our instructors know how Maximo works most effectively for other companies, and they share those insights with you in our training classes.

Your learning will be especially effective in our small classes, with an average class size of four to six students (and usually no more than eight). You will use up-to-date equipment specially configured for an optimal Maximo learning experience.

We also offer convenient online training options as well.  We have Instructor-Led classes via LiveMeeting, and we also have Self-Paced Online classes that you can view independently.

2. What do I receive when I sign up for Maximo training?


For Public Classes at Projetech:
If you apply by email, you will receive an email confirming receipt. You also will receive a confirmation packet. It includes class dates and times, directions, and lodging information. You may also receive a pre-class questionnaire regarding your specific training needs (depending on the class).

For Online Classes:
If you apply via www.maximolearning.com you will be directed to PayPal and can begin to view your class online.

3. Where do Projetech’s Maximo training classes take place?

Most Maximo training classes take place at Projetech headquarters, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Projetech also conducts training classes at client sites when there are several users requiring training or when classes need to be customized to specific client requirements.

4. Does Projetech provide training at client sites?

A Projetech instructor will be happy to come to your site to teach any of the classes/workshops we offer, or to teach a class customized to your company’s specific needs. No matter what the class location, we recommend a student/instructor ratio of no more than ten to one, so that all students get the attention they need. For more information about off-site training, email training@projetech.com.

5. Will Projetech offer classes customized to my company’s needs?

Projetech offers customized classes using existing or new class material, depending on your specific requirements. Customized classes can be taught at Projetech offices or at your location, whichever you prefer.

We will work with you to customize the syllabus and other materials as needed, schedule dates and locations, and provide anything else that may be necessary for a successful Maximo training experience. For more details, email training@projetech.com.

6. Are references available?

Yes. We pride ourselves on the quality of our classes and work very hard to keep improving. In fact, our satisfaction rating for students who complete Projetech Maximo courses is well above 90%. Pricing/Registration/Schedule

1. How often are training classes held at Projetech?

The class schedule varies, depending on demand for specific classes and client need. See the current schedule on our website, or email training@projetech.com to request upcoming class dates.

2. What Maximo classes are regularly scheduled at Projetech, and how much do they cost?

3. How can I sign up for classes?

4. Where are Projetech headquarters located?

We are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. A map and directions are available.


5. Does Projetech provide temporary staffing? 

No, but we offer remote system administration.

Billing

1. What credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express. Note: For your security, please do not send credit card information via email.

2. Can I get a receipt for my training class charges?

Yes, a receipt can be sent to you. Please provide the name and mailing address to which it should be sent.

Class Cancellation

1. What is your policy for class cancellations?

A class may be postponed or canceled by Projetech at any time without notice for reasons beyond our control, such as instructor illness or low enrollment. While this seldom occurs, we make every effort to let you know about a cancellation well in advance, and we will work with you to reschedule.

If you cancel your class enrollment more than five working days in advance of the class, no fee will be charged. A cancellation fee of 20 percent of the course fee will be charged for all cancellations made five working days or less prior to the start of the course. No-shows will be charged 100 percent of the course fee.

In the event of an emergency, we will be happy to work with you to schedule an alternate date.

Maximo Hosting FAQs

1. What is Maximo Hosting?

Maximo Hosting, formerly eMaintenance, is our 'Maximo as a Service' (MaaS) solution to your Enterprise Asset Management software needs. Projetech provides a hosted version of Maximo for your company so instead of purchasing the software itself, with MaaS, users can sign in on any computer with internet access. MaaS enables the power of a sophisticated computerized, centralized maintenance management system to be utilized by virtually any company, no matter the size or number of locations. No sophisticated (and expensive) data communication network is required. Installation is fast and efficient, and eMaintenance clients realize quick time-to-benefit.

2. How does MaaS work?

MaaS takes advantage of a technical concept called “thin client” computing. Utilizing proven Microsoft software that is hosted on a server running Windows, the technology transmits only the screen images and keystrokes to the users’ workstation.

3. What CMMS program does MaaS use?

MaaS uses Maximo, the industry leader. Maximo is an enterprise software package developed to manage assets of mid-sized to large corporate entities in all industries, educational institutions, and government agencies.

4. What are some of the advantages of MaaS?

Using the power of the Internet, MaaS makes it possible for distributed maintenance organizations to take advantage of centralizing all critical maintenance information on a common database, accessible to everyone. Additionally, MaaS enables companies with vintage hardware to have access to the CMMS without the time and expense of hardware upgrades.

5. Where is the CMMS software installed?

The CMMS application software and database are installed on the central Windows server, which is hosted in a secure state-of-the-art data center.

6. How does a client PC communicate with the server?

There are several options. Virtually any type of connection to the Internet will suffice.

  • A dedicated network connection through an existing network
  • A dial-up connection to an Internet Service Provider

7. How fast does the Internet connection need to be?

The MaaS system performs adequately at a communication rate of 28.8 kps, although rates greater than 40 kps are preferred.

8. Who installs and maintains the software?

Knowledgeable Projetech system engineers manage the network of servers and software to ensure a reliable, secure application.

9. Who configures the CMMS for our company’s use?

Our clients are free to configure their CMMS system to their own needs. If desired, Projetech will provide Maximo configuration services.

10. How much does MaaS cost?

Basic service starts at less than the cost of 5 hours of an MIS consultant's time. Monthly fees are based on the system configuration and the number of users.
